Antonio Figueredo Navarrete
Antonio Figueredo Navarette was born in Marbella’s Old Town in 1967. He is a self-employed professional and since childhood has always had a curiosity and desire to learn about nature, above all the fauna and flora of our country and especially that of our immediate environment, Marbella and neighbouring districts. Thanks to an early start with these interests he is now an expert on the open spaces around us and their environmental importance. For years Antonio has been a member the Sociedad Española de Ornitologia (SEO Bird Life) as well as a member of the local Málaga SEO group. He is also a co-founder of the Marbella Activa Association.
Antonio has been an activist in the defence of different open spaces and taken part in numerous field work activities including bird censuses. Special mention must be made of his participation in Spain’s atlases of wintering and breeding birds both editions published by the Ministry of the Environment. During the last year Francisco co-authored the Marbella Naturalmente book published by the Marbella Activa Association. He has published many articles on the environment in the Opinión de Málaga newspaper and also in the Marbella Activa Association, some of them ethnographic.
For years Francisco has taken an active part as a guide or monitor in disseminating the nature of our open spaces in conjunction with Marbella Activa, SEO Bird Life and Marbella’s Delegation of the Environment. With SEO Malaga he has contributed to drawing up a number of environmental reports intended for different administrations. Marbella has a green future indeed.
